Statistical Analysis of HSC Results (2011 exams/batch) – Rodrigues leads the way.

In 2011, 10,163 students enrolled for the exams (4342 Boys and 5821 Girls), 10081 were examined (82 absent) and 7995 passed hence a pass rate of 79.31% for the Republic of Mauritius as a whole ie including Rodrigues. Girls generally performed better than boys with a pass rate of 82.29 per cent against 75.27 percent. Interestingly, this is the highest past rate since 2004 when it stood at 76.20. Interestingly also is the upshot of the pass rate in Rodrigues from 54.50 % in 2004 to 76.1% in 2010 and 83.38%. This rate of progress is remarkable and should be looked into closely to see the recipe for success.

Schools with 100 per cent pass rate

Only 3 schools managed to achieve 100 % pass rate as follows:

1)      D.Ramphul SSS

2)      Riviere des Anguilles FVI college

3)      Royal College Port Louis

Quite surprisingly not all star colleges were able to achieve such pass rates not even the Queen Elizabeth college which nevertheless scored 99.37 per cent ie 158 pass out of 159 entries.
