Analysis of Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) Mauritius results 2005-2010

According to the information on the Mauritius Examination Syndicate (MES) website, the pass rate for the Republic of Mauritius (Mauritius and Rodrigues) has improved from 64.9% in 2005 to 68.54% in 2010. However the number of pupils taking part in the examinations has dropped from 27117 to 23156. The significant in the pass rate in Rodrigues for the period 2009 to 2010 from 57.14% to 61.71% is to be underscored.

As regards ZEP schools the average pass rate has remained fairly stable from 2006 to 2010 around the 36 per cent mark.

Subject wise the highest percentage pass was noted for Telegu with about 81 percent while the lowest percentage pass concerned Hindi with a pass rate of 68.6 per cent.

As for the Core Subjects (English, French, Maths, Science and History & Geo), the pass rate hovered around 76 percent and exceeded it slightly for each subject for each subject.
